Claire Yiyao Ma, Senior Analyst, International Trade and Investment

Claire Yiyao Ma is a Senior Analyst for international trade and investment at IAS Group.  She is proficient in financial analysis, including revenue forecasting, project evaluation, and business planning for international investments. She continuously tracks global trade and investment activities especially M&A with a special focus on the US and China and provides strategic solutions to clients’ investment needs. She also investigates regulatory policies and procedures for foreign investment to advise partners and clients on compliance with US rules and procedures.

Since joining IAS in 2015, Ms. Ma has increasingly focused on investment opportunities in the renewable energy, steel and commercial real estate sectors. As a member of Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), Women’s Council on Energy and the Environment (WCEE), and Washington International Trade Association (WITA), she has been actively involved in identifying and discussing the trends in industries, markets and public policies.

Ms. Ma researched and coauthored with IAS President Charles Blum reports on “Chinese FDI in the USA: Understanding the Challenges and Opportunities” and “Thoughts on China’s 13th 5-Year Plan.”   She is currently developing a comprehensive English/Mandarin glossary of terms related to solar energy.

Ms. Ma holds a Master degree in Finance from Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland.  She also earned a Bachelor degree of Management and a Bachelor degree (dual degree) of Economics at Jinan University in Guangzhou.  She holds a CFA Level I certificate and is a CFA Level II candidate.
