Issue advocacy is often best served through coalitions of like-minded groups. Sometimes existing broad-based organizations such as the National Association of Manufacturers can be used. Other times, new coalitions must be formed. IAS has initiated and become charter members of several successful coalitions. IAS focuses on regulatory problem solving with respect to U.S. trade agencies, Customs and Border Protection, Justice (antitrust), and Treasury. Our activities in this area involve analytical support on economic, political, and legal issues arising in trade law investigations; assessment of the impact of currency, trade, tax, regulatory, technological, market, and political developments on clients’ interests, and creative solutions to public policy issues.Read More
IAS seeks to promote sound, mutually beneficial investment and commercial ties between American and foreign parties. We have focused on the special challenges encountered in emerging markets and increasingly have focused on the energy sector.When the developer of renewable energy projects in California sought partners for engineering, construction and financing, IAS identified several of the largest Chinese solar companies, established relations with them and facilitated communications between the American and Chinese parties.Read More
IAS helps foster cross-border industry cooperation by organizing international study missions for businesses, industry associations, and investors. We also conduct seminars and advise companies on antidumping issues. To promote better mutual understanding and working relationships, IAS organized and led nine study missions to China for various groups in the steel sector. Additional missions are planned to China, India and other countries.Read More
